Shaikh Ab. Hamid Congratulates Turkey on Revival of Hagia Sophia Mosque

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid of Zahedan, Iran issued a statement praising the Turkish government on its decision to revive the Hagia Sophia mosque.

The statement says: “I was informed that the Turkish highest Administrative Court has annulled the Turkey’s 1934 decree on converting the Hagia Sophia Mosque into a museum and called it illegal”.

President of Darululoom Zahedan added: “Turkey’s president signed an order to convert the Hagia Sophia Museum back into to a mosque, and now the call of Azan is heard from the Hagia Sophia Mosque”.

“This historical big event and the resumption of prayer in Hagia Sophia and the revival of one of the houses of Allah have made Muslims happy all over the world”, said the Iranian Sunnis leader.

He added: “I congratulate the president, the Turkish nation and all Muslims on this important event.”

“I hope Hagia Sophia remains a mosque forever”, member of the MWL concluded his statement.
