Leave Spiritual Pollution to be Saved from Coronavirus

Referring to the spread of Coronavirus in some countries, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid of Zahedan, Iran called on Muslims to pray, repent, return to Allah and to avoid sins in order to rescue from divine punishment.
He was talking before the Friday prayers in Zahedan on Feb 28, 2020.

Addressing thousands of worshippers in Zahedan, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid emphasized on the necessity of obeying Allah’s commands and giving due rights of His servants. He called on Muslims to do what is right and to forbid the evils in such circumstances.

“Allah has created a cause for everything in the world; happiness and misery of mankind have a cause. There are also causes for any disaster’s relief”, he added.

“The best idea is to take advantage of the causes; do not depend on causes of the world; trust only in Allah”. The Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan said.

He added: “The use of medical care is the command of Islam, but in order to heal, trust in Allah Who is the Creator of everything and the real Healer of every patient”.

“It is important to see the spiritual and visible causes of the things; why do we see the apparent cause that is the Coronavirus and do not see the spiritual causes, which are oppression and sins? Why we don’t see Allah Who is the real influencer?” Shaikh Abdol-Hamid questioned.

“If the Chinese were infected with the Coronavirus due to eating animals such as snakes, mice and moths, why would their ancestors who ate the same meat did not get such virus?” The Iranian Sunnis leader questioned.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid emphasized on the necessity of repentance and forbade from sins and said that everything has the spiritual and physical causes; as spiritual disease cures, physical disease also cures.

“To rescue from divine punishment we should take steps towards Allah and leave the sin with all its forms and to repent to Allah the Almighty”, Imam of Grand Makki Mosque of Zahedan said.

“Why don’t we see the history of the past? When the people of Younus came out of their city along with children and animals and repented, Allah rebuffed the coming punishment and saved them,” the outstanding scholar of Sunnis in Iran said.

He considered the Coronavirus as a torment for the entire world and said that the Coronavirus is a threat to the whole world.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid advised Muslims: “Everyone should return to Allah, leave the sins, fulfill regular prayers, do what is the right and forbid from evils in order to rescue from divine punishments.

Officials should clarify Zahedan’s election results
Criticizing ambiguities in the eleventh term of Iran’s parliamentary elections, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid called on provincial officials for clarification in the elections in his Friday speech of Feb. 28, 2020 and asked authorities to remove people’s concerns in this regard.

Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said: “The conditions of this year’s elections were different from previous terms. People were not interested to vote because of the problems that happened in the country such as inflation, unemployment, raising petrol price and the crash of a Ukrainian plane and so on.”

“These events hit the people and caused them not to participate in the elections”, he added.

“We were first in doubt whether to participate in the elections or not; it did not mean to boycott the elections, but we were not going to support a particular candidate”, the Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan said.

The Iranian Sunnis leader pointed to the mass disqualification of applicants in the eleventh term of the parliamentary elections in Iran saying: “Sunnis’ professionals and experienced personalities that we knew were disqualified after registering in the elections”.

“Mass disqualification of talented Sunni applicants has raised concerns among the public and caused them not to vote”, the Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan said.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said: “This shocked us and made us to participate not actively in the elections.”

He added: “Finally we were drawn into the elections, and we said that the clerics and seminaries [of Zahedan] step down to choose anyone as Sunnis’ candidates and said the academics and tribal chiefs choose the one; finally two were elected as Sunnis candidates”.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid pointed to the election fraud in Zahedan saying: “We had problems in the past elections and this year the problems increased; one of the problems was the absence of Sunnis in the executive board of election commission. We protested; they promised us to hold the elections fairly and whoever win the most votes would be announced, but they did not.

While describing the election fraud, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said that Sunnis’ candidates were on top in the early morning, but unofficial results had been announced in the morning in favor of the opposite candidate by the governor’s office.

“We protested, but the Supervisory Council approved the result in favor of the opposition”, the Iranian Sunnis leader said.

He said more: “It is in the interest of the people of Zahedan to send a Sunni and a Shiite MP to the parliament. Maintaining unity and fraternity is more important to us than anything else.

Shaikh-ul-Islam said that their concern was not that both delegates were from the opposite side, but the fact was that a candidate who wins the most votes would win the election.

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid further called on the authorities to have a high vision and urged that officials should observe Sunnis’ rights especially in a frontier city like Zahedan where Shiites and Sunnis live together.

He also asked the officials to respect Sunnis’ rights and called for more fraternity.

The eminent scholar of Sunnis in Iran believed that in a city like Zahedan where Sunnis and Shiites live together, two candidates should be elected from the both sides.

“Fraternity is more valuable to us than the two seats occupied by MPs, it is important to preserve fraternity. The officials should treat both sides equally”, president of Darululoom Zahedan said.

Who think only government maintains peace in the province completely wrong

The Friday Imam of Sunnis in Zahedan added: “Those who think that only they were involved in establishing security in the province, they are wrong; because security in the province had been established by both the officials and public sides”.

“We have stood against foreign forces and did not allow the Americans and Israelis to attack our country”, he added.

“The role we have played in establishing security, some official sides are also unaware of them”, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid further said.

Mawlana Abdol-Hamid continued: “We have always called for fraternity and considered it vital in our society; we are member of one body in this country that served the community and established security in the society.”

Makki Mosque pursues unity, fraternity and constructive criticism

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid defended the position of the Grand Makki mosque in Iran and pointed to the services of Makki especially in providing national security.

The Imam of Grand Makki Mosque said: “We have heard that many applicants were disqualified because of their relationship with the Makki Mosque; if that is true, then the officials are wrong because Makki’s method is to boost fraternity and it pursues moderation while at the same time it makes constructive criticisms.”

Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid considered the Grand Makki Mosque as a pillar of the country that has always served the people of Iran extensively and had been far from extremism.
