The Guardian Council Restricted Candidate’s Qualification

Mawlana Abdol-Hamid strongly criticized the Guardian Council (of Iran) for mass disqualification of applicants from running in the upcoming parliamentary election and called for diversity in elections.
He also urged on the necessity of national determination and cooperation over damages caused by flood in southern Baluchistan in his Friday speech of January 17, 2020.

The Iranian Sunnis leader pointed out to mass disqualification of applicants by the Guardian Council and said it may affect the motivation of people for costing their votes in the upcoming parliamentary election.

“The Guardian Council has rejected a large number of applicants including scholars from running in the upcoming elections. It is shocking that they were rejected on the excuse of “not acting on Islam”; when scholars and Ulama do not act on Islam, then who acts?” Shaikh Abdol-Hamid questioned.

He further asked: “Do they want select an Imam for any mosque or teacher for a religious school and seminary? Parliament is a place for making law and analyzing the needs of the nation. Experts and veteran politicians should sit on the chairs of parliament.”

Mawlana Abdol-Hamid called for diversity in elections and believed that the administration of state’s affairs could not be carried out by one faction.

“The Guardian Council has rejected a number of legible applicants from running in the elections while a few members of applicants qualified only from one wing”, the Imam of Zahedan’s Grand Makki Mosque said.

Mawlana Abdol-Hamid called for implementation of justice and elimination of discrimination and believed that justice was the only way to move the country’s affairs forward.

Iran needs a U-turn in domestic and foreign policies
“I have told few months ago that the country needs a U-turn in internal and foreign policies and stances. It was a sincere advice, but unfortunately there is no ear for the sincere voices,” the prominent Islamic scholar said.

He added more: “If the officials paid attention to such suggestions, we could have not seen growing protests in the country. Public demands should be taken seriously.”

Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said “Allah” and “people” are two foundations for the country. The laws of Allah should be realized and people’s demands should be focused on. Otherwise by force people cannot remain loyal to anyone.

Flood-victims need fundamental aids
Addressing thousands of worshippers in Zahedan, he pointed out to heavy flood damages in southern Iranian Baluchistan in recent days and urged on fundamental aids reinstatement of roads, bridges and levees.

President of Darululoom Zahedan said that helping flood victims requires national determination

In this regard Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said that the most agricultural fields had been destroyed in many areas by heavy rainfall and flood.

“Rain in some areas reached 200 to 250 mm and destroyed many gardens and farmlands completely. About 2000 wells have been destroyed”, he said

“Farmers and ranchers should be supported by the government in order to avoid inappropriate jobs”, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid suggested.

Shaikh-ul-Islam appreciated the people of public sides for their services in Baluchistan’s hit-flood areas.
He called on the government to rebuild the infrastructures, bridges, houses, embankments and roads.

Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said that non-cash assistances such as blankets, foods, tents and etc. were among the essential needs that have been providing by public aids. Now they need fundamental aids more.
