Iranian First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri has announced that Homeira Rigi had been selected as the ambassador of Iran to Brunei. Jahangiri was in a trip to Sistan-Baluchistan province last week.
Homeira Rigi, the current governor of Qasr-e Qand County in the southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchistan is scheduled to be appointed as the Iranian ambassador to Brunei, Tayebeh Siavoshi, a member of women fraction in the Iranian parliament told IRNA.
Mrs. Rigi, 43, has worked on different positions in the province of Sistan-Baluchistan.
Sunnis constitute more than 20% of the population in Iran. Their leaders have been criticizing state policies on ignoring their elites on the bases of biased behavior and religious discrimination.
Before this, Saleh Adibi from the Iranian Sunni community was appointed as Iranian Ambassador to Vietnam.
