Iraq Needs Comprehensive Non-sectarian Gov.

In a letter to Muqtada al-Sadr, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid urged on formation of a non-sectarian comprehensive government and implementation of justice.
The news bureau of the office of Shaikh Abdol-Hamid, Friday imam of Sunnis in Zahedan and president of Darululoom Zahedan reported that he had congratulated the victory of al-Sa’iroun bloc to Muqtada al-Sadr in parliamentary elections of Iraq.
He addressed al-Sadr and said: “Victory of al-Sa’iroun bloc under your leadership with new ideas and programs in the political field of Iraq is an exceptional opportunity for Iraq as an influential country in the Muslim world.”
In a part of this letter, the most influential Iranian Sunni leader alluded to the development of extremism in Iraq and said: “Unfortunately, the governments which ruled on Iraq after the collapse of the former dictator marginalized many Iraqis because of ethnic, sectarian and religious differences and deprived them from their due rights.”
He urged on the principle of “meritocracy” and wrote: “It has been a common viewpoint that Shias and Sunnis cannot tolerate each other and they do not respect each other’s due rights. We should resist this propaganda by formation of national governments; the worst kind of governing is sectarian government which denies ‘meritocracy’.”
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid emphasized in his letter to Muqtada al-Sadr that “unity and peace in Iraq cannot be achieved by military expedition and war” and said: “We’d like to recommend you to establish a comprehensive government and gather elites of all sects, religions and ethnic communities of Iraq. All Iraqis should feel that they representatives in the upcoming government who will represent them.”
At the end of the letter, president of Darululoom Zahedan made it clear: “Durable unity and peace of Iraq depends on implementation of justice and removal of discrimination; surely this strategy ensures Iraq’s brilliant future improving its respect in the world.”
