SunniOnline: An ex member of the Iranian parliament said the deputy interior minister had told him the interior ministry “cannot appoint Sunni governor”.
In an interview with the website of International Human Rights Campaign, Hasel Daseh, the former representative of Piranshahr pointed out to his meeting with the deputy interior minister where Dr. Jalalizadeh also was present.
Daseh said that the official of the interior ministry said: “omit Sunnis. We cannot and we are not allowed to appoint governors from the Sunni community”.
Appointing governor from the Sunni community is legal according to the nation constitution, but none of governments have could appoint any Sunni governor for provinces yet.
