One Day with Mawlana Abdol-Hamid

How pleasant is the memory of my last journey! It is still fresh in my mind. There are special reasons why these kinds of journeys are a source of joy for me.
There will be a graduation ceremony for female students of Kallegan, the hometown of Mawlana Abdurrahman Mohebbi. Seemingly Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, the rector of the biggest Islamic seminary of the Iranian Sunni community, is going to take part in this borderline village of Iran near to Pakistan.

Preparation
I picked up my luggage and kept waiting for departure next to the east exit gate of Darululoom Zahedan. All fellow passengers were alert. It was about 10:30 A.M. I got astonished when I got on the car; there was an empty place for me. Unordinary, I do not have to sit due to tightness of place on my fellow passengers lips. This journey sounds different.

Departure
The caravan leaves Zahedan, the city of “Hafezan-e-Qur’an” to Saravan district. Talking and analyzing different issues is begun by the start of travel. In these latter days, 12 sets of traffic cameras were installed in Zahedan-Khash highway to control the speed and transgressions of careless drivers. It is an important subject. Friends start speaking and analyzing the cameras’ role immediately after they pass the check point in the south west of Zahedan. They recommend each other to control speed.

First station
The caravan stopped for offering prayers in Kahnuk, a small and fascinating village between Zahedan and Khash. It has a big Masjid with a view over beautiful gardens. There is also a small seminary, next to Masjid where we had lunch.
Friendly dialogues and warm talking increase to the sweetness of meal. There was smiling, laughs and competition in serving each other and showing respect.
Everyone would try to do his best, but the behavior of Mawlana Abdol-Hamid is so appreciable and really a masterwork and role model for us in this occasion. He partakes in sharing jokes and warm conversations of companions. As well as, he makes them to feel free.
Shaikh-ul-Islam, in spite of his high position, eagerly serves his companions; I see him always in slicing watermelon or putting the plates before even children.

To be continued…
