SANANDAJ – IRAN: (SunniOnline + IslamKurd) a prominent Sunni Kurdish scholar, Mamousta Mullah Abdullah Amini passed away on Friday evening, Dec. 11, 2015, in Sanandaj, Iran.
According to local sources, Shaikh Abdullah Amini, the elder brother of Kaak Hasan Amini, passed away in a hospital in the provincial capital of Kurdistan, Sanandaj. He was suffering from heart diseases.
The late scholar, Mullah Abdullah Amini, was born in 1940 in Saqez district of Kurdistan. His father, Mullah Ubaidullah Amini, was the Friday Imam of Tamugha village. He sent three of his four sons for Islamic studies where he and his brother Hasan got traditional education.
Mullah Muhammad Azizi, Mullah Abd-ur-Rahman Taheri, Mullah Abdullah Mohammadi and his father Mullah Ubaidullah are among his famous mentors and teachers.
He provided his services as an Imam for many years in ‘Qaleh-Kohneh’ village. He also built some rooms for the students of Islamic education. In 1984, he shifted to Saqez city and continued his activities in ‘Meraj Masjid’ of the city. He was one of the active supporters of the campaign against the Shah regime that ousted his regime in 1979.
Meanwhile, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid, the outstanding Iranian Sunni leader and Friday imam of Sunnis issued a condolence message, expressing his regret over the demise of Shaikh Abdullah to his brother, Kaak Hasan Amini, Kurd Muslims and other relatives.
