Extremists of All Groups, Sects Must be Controlled

Decrying extremism in the society, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid urged during his Friday sermon extremists of all groups and sects should be marginalized and sobriety must rule on.

Talking to hundreds of Sunni citizens in Zahedan on May 09, 2014, the prominent Sunni leader said, “Unfortunately, today’s human beings suffer from extremism and individualism. Lack of moderation, sobriety and consultation made the life for all uneasy.”

Alluding to extremism in Muslim states, he said that many of Muslim countries and societies had faced the same problem while Islam is the religion of dialogue, peace and peaceful living. The Noble Qur’an addresses Muslims: «وَإِن جَنَحُواْ لِلسَّلْمِ فَاجْنَحْ لَهَا وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللّهِ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ», (And if they tilt towards peace, you too should tilt towards it, and place your trust in Allah. Surely, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.) [8: 61]; But no doubt Islam had declared Jihad obligatory if the opposite side does not believe in dialogue and negotiation, and want to impose his arrogance.

“Islam is a religion that wants calm and peace for all in the world. Foresight and taking care of the calm of mankind cannot be away from Islam. If Muslims go on the path of temperance and avoid making the vast circle of Islam ‘narrow’, many of problems will be resolved quickly. Regrettably, some people limit Islam to themselves and claim that only their words are correct; it is a wrong idea, others should have chance to speak too,” Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan added more.

He underlined defamation, obloquy and lie were in contrast with the spirit of Islam. It makes all worried and sad to see how some elements tell lie to defame their opponents. Islam is averse from obloquy and lie.

Criticizing some extremist ‘Principlists’ in Iran, Shaikh Abdol-Hamid made it clear, “We respect sober rightists. But some people, who proclaim to be part of ‘Principlist’ wing, cannot tolerate others. They strive to defame their opponents by vilifying and fabricating reports in their media sources. It damages the rightists themselves more than others. Extremists in all groups and societies damage their groups as Islam has been defamed by its enemies who disadvantage the outlawed acts of Muslim extremists.”

He said people go to extremes due to lack of piety and Taqwa. Such people defame others even they show good acts of others ‘bad’; it is against temperance. Islam urges on justice in any condition: «وَلاَ يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآنُ قَوْمٍ عَلَى أَلاَّ تَعْدِلُواْ اعْدِلُواْ هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَى», (O you who believe, be steadfast for (obeying the commands of) Allah, (and) witnesses for justice. Malice against a people should not prompt you to avoid doing justice. Do justice. That is nearer to Taqwa. Fear Allah. Surely, Allah is All-Aware of what you do.); [5: 8]

The member of the International Union for Muslim Scholars added more, “What will be the answer of people who baselesslyblame on others? How they can protect themselves from the divine anger? Muslims should consider the watch of Allah always. Even if anyone has no faith in Islam, he should have moral code and avoid from violating the rights of others. As Hussein bin Ali, may Allah be pleased with them, said to his opponents that if they do not believe in Islam, at least they should be free and tolerant. All people, regardless to their views, tenets and race, have some rights and should be respected.”

In another part of his speech, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid called the residents of Sistan-Baluchistan to be united for development of their province. He said, “Some extremists want to scare investors and traders in order to stop development process of the province. They are enemies of this region and all ethnic and religious sects live in the province. Extremists should be controlled and marginalized.

“As-Sisi” proved Pharaoh is in Egypt yet
Khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan decried the statement of Gen. Abdul-Fattah as-Sisi, a candidate for presidency in Egypt, who stated to eliminate the Muslim Brotherhood movement if he wins in the election.
Shaikh Abdol-Hamid said, “As-Sisi got the power in Egypt by a military coup and now he registered his name for presidential election. He said in a talk show to root up Muslim Brotherhood after gaining power as a president. I wondered a lot how he could speak about elimination of an Islamic movement! It is a reason that Pharaoh is alive yet in Egypt and such people are offspring of Pharaoh who fought with the prophet Moses, peace be upon him.

The rector of Darululoom Zahedan termed ‘as-Sisi’ the puppet of Israel and the West. He said, “They threat Muslims, because they are puppets of the West and Allah will oppress them badly. We think those who plot against Islam and Islamists, Allah Almighty will punish them.”
