A court in Bangladesh condemned the Islamic leader of committing crimes against humanity during the war that led to the separation of Bangladesh from Pakistan about 40 years ago.
Hamas said that the execution, against a renowned scholar, was a flagrant violation of international laws and doctrines.
The execution would lead to negative consequences on Bangladesh’s social fabric, Hamas warned.
The movement urged the Bengali government not to carry out the death sentences against four other Islamic leaders and to stop persecuting Islamic leaders and scholars.
