Attack kills 17 Afghan policemen in Ghazni

Seventeen Afghan police officers have been killed in an attack carried out by the Taliban militants on a police station in the eastern province of Ghazni, Press TV reports.

Provincial officials said the attack was carried out in the Andar district on Tuesday night.

The assailants also took away the victims’ weapons and ammunition, the officials stated.

The Taliban militants have claimed responsibility for the attack.

On Wednesday, a bomb attack on a bus transporting Afghan military personnel in the capital, Kabul, injured seven people, including the attacker.

Three Afghan policemen also lost their lives in an attack launched by the Taliban militants in Kabul on January 21.
