“A bomb, apparently planted in a motorcycle, exploded in Karachi’s eastern neighborhood of Sohrab Goth, killing two people and wounding two others,” local police official Safdar Ali said on Wednesday.
He added that minutes before the attack a hand grenade targeted a police van near the site of the bombing.
“Around 30 minutes before the bomb explosion, two persons came on a motorbike and hurled a grenade on a police van. Three policemen and one civilian were injured in the explosion caused by the grenade,” Ali said.
Abdul Kareem Mughal, Another official, said police “suspect that the two people killed in the second incident may be the terrorists trying to plant the bomb.”
In 2012, around 2,000 people were killed in violent attacks in the city in the southern province of Sindh.
