A Sunni Khateeb Shot Dead in Baluchistan

Sarbaaz- Shaikh Mustafa Jangizahi, Khateeb of “Masjid-e-Khizra” in Raask city of the Iranian Baluchistan was killed on Friday evening, January 20, 2012.

According to local news agencies, unidentified armed men opened fire on him when he was going back his home after Friday prayers in Sarbaaz district of the Sunni-dominated Sistan-Baluchistan province. Another villager, who was accompanying Shaikh Jangizahi reportedly, lost his life as well.

It is noteworthy that no one has claimed the responsibility yet; the possible motive for the assassination is ambiguous.

Many religious and political personalities have denounced the incident, including Teachers Community of Darululoom Zahedan.
