Delivering Friday sermon in grand Makki masjid of Zahidan, Shaikh Abdul Ghani began his speech by recitation of the initial verses of Al-Muminoun chapter describing the characters of the believers.
Shaikh Abdul Ghani explained the attributes mentioned in the Al-Muminoun chapter for the believers and urged, “Tazkia (purification of heart) is the most important attribute of the believers, those who work hard to purify themselves will be successful and real owners of Jannah.”
The assistant of Darululoom Zahidan’s rector interpreted the verse: «والذین هم للزکوة فاعلون» and said that some of the Mufassireen (interpreters) explicated the mentioned verse to be related to Zakat. On the other hand, some of the other interpreters have declared this ayah to describe an important quality; tazkia and elimination of bad habits and internal nature. Because, ‘zakat’ means cleanliness and purity and the verse does not say any thing about wealth and property. Internal purification is the order of Almighty Allah. Every Mumin must clean his/her heart from all sorts of evils.
Shaikh Abdul Ghani expressed his regret that mostly Muslims consider the religion limited in the five-time prayers, observing fast in Ramadan and such obligations while Islam has directions for all aspects of life; a true Muslim should practice on all teachings and orders of Islam, Muslims should follow those instructions in the sector of worships, transactions, communications, politics and morals (internal reformation.)
The teacher of Hadeeth in Darululoom Zahidan, the largest Sunni seminary in Iran, further said that Almighty Allah has counted tazkia and inner purification as one of the most important divine duties of the prophets. The holy prophet Muhammad showed the importance of heart in a short and comprehensive Hadeeth saying that damage and excellence of whole body depends on the condition of heart. If heart is clean from sins and vice then all parts of body will be safe from devils.
Shaikh added more that heart beats from the first moment of life till the last second of life, even when we sleep, heart supplies blood to every part of body 72 times in a minute; so doctors emphasize to take care of it very much. He urged, ‘As there is no worldly life without heart beating, in the same way spiritual life would be finished without reformation and tazkia.’
At the end, khateeb of grand Makki masjid in last Friday pointed out that many people practice external worships but they are unaware of their internal sins; deeds of heart also are divided into fardh and haraam etc. so we should have sincerity in deeds and be far away from arrogance and jealousy and such internal sins.
