2 US-led soldiers killed in Afghanistan

Two US-led soldiers were killed by a roadside bomb placed on a highway in southern Afghanistan, and in eastern Afghanistan five members of a family were killed by another roadside bomb.

Both attacks occurred on Sunday.
The nationalities of the soldiers and the exact location of the attack are still unknown.
In another incident, a bomber blew up a vehicle near a military convoy in the eastern province of Khost. The blast killed a child standing nearby and wounded two other people, AP reported on Sunday.
Sunday’s deaths come just a day after four Italian troops were killed in a similar bombing in the western Afghanistan.
Over 570 foreign troops have been killed since the US-led war and occupation of Afghanistan began in 2001.
According to a UN report, more than 1,200 civilians have been killed in the first six months of 2010, an increase of 25 percent over the same period last year.
