Shaikh A.Hameed: Piety the main result of fasting

molana35After recitation the verse: “یا ایھا الذین آمنوا کتب علیکم الصیام کما کتب علی الذین من قبلکم لعلّکم تتقون”  the imam and khateeb of Makki masque Shaikh Abdul Hameed expressed the importance of fasting as well as the significance of piety which is the result of great Divine obligatory [fasting] explaining more he said, “Certainly almighty Allah has uttered in the verse of fasting that if some one wants to get piety so he should have fasting, there is no doubt that piety (Taqwa) is the most important element which can better reform a human being, nicely can guide him, easily can beautify him with the excellent manners, and accurately can lead him to wards paradise [Jannah].

Piety has great effect to reform an individual as well as a society and it is impossible to get the prosperity whit out having piety, the history of succeeded nations is large evidence that success would never be achieved if piety does not exist.
Respected Shaikh added more, “Though other worships also create the fear of almighty and piety but  there is a difference between fasting and other worships like prayers, Zakat (charity), pilgrimage ( Haj) as Allah almighty mentioned the main object of fasting لعلّکم تتّقون”” rather than other ones it is not mentioned over there, it means the piety has direct link with fasting and other worships can create the piety but indirectly, that is why Allah almighty has not mentioned the piety as a result with other worships. Perhaps fasting has very close relationship with the holy Quran and it has been revealed in the month of Ramadan so by having fasting our piety (Taqwa) will be increased so we will get more and more advantages of Quranic verses. Allah says only pious can get benefits from the great teachings of the Holy Qur’an.

The benefits of piousness:
Piety (Taqwa) leads us towards paradise (Jannah); as Allah says: انّ المتّقین فی جنّات و نعیم (Certainly the believers are in paradise), when a person becomes pious so he will be gifted the livelihood from the place that he would be surprised that how it cam to me, piousness always fetches the whole kinds of success; as Quran says: انّ للمتقین مفازاً there is no doubt that pious people are successful persons. Obviously it can be gotten by fasting.
The pious person always try to have good deeds, to keep him self far a way from prohibited things and from each an every thing which can destroy our lives here and hereafter, he neither becomes indolent to have prayers nor he misses them, he takes care of paying Zakat, and performing Haj, he never be gossip to convey talks of some one to others.
Shaikh said more that it is not piety to offer prayers meanwhile he snatches others property and destroy their rights and do not leave the prohibited things, killing innocent people.
Shaikh said the month of Ramadan is a very great month, it is the month of patience, the month of taking pity on poor, the month of blessings, so it should be cleared that Allah almighty do not want just hungry, thirsty. He just examine us how to spend the lives, it is the month where the rewards are upgraded as the additional prayers become equal to fardh and fardh become to seventy present.

The activities should be done in Ramadan:
The head of Jamia Darululoom Zahedan expressed some important activities which are to be prepared in this blessed month such as are following:
1: To give up all kinds of sins.
2: To recite the holy Quran often, those who can do it or not I advise them to try for doing it because this blessed book has close relationship with the month of Ramadan.
3: To remember Almighty Allah most of the time; thus we can be much closed to greatest God almighty.
4: To say Salat & Salam for the holy prophet (PBUH).
5: To seek forgiveness from Almighty Allah after each good deed we do it.
Shaikh added more that this is the month of showing mercy for poor, widows, orphans and those who are needy and helpless.
Shaikh Abdul Hameed stressed the people to pay their Zakat rather every one should give more than the divine obligatory. “Certainly when you give them Zakat so you are not doing well with such needy persons rather we must be sure that we are storing our money for the dooms day, and it will help us here as well as hereafter,” He pointed.
At the end of his speech Shaikh called the people to pray to Allah after their worships and ask him forgiveness for the whole Muslim umma, especially request Allah almighty to help the Muslims and mujahideen in Palestine, Afghanistan, Kashmir, Iraq. Particularly don’t forget your brothers and sisters in Pakistan who are badly affected by floods. Never become arrogant due to their good deeds rather they show their weaknesses and create sincerity while they worship Allah.
