ZAHEDAN- A rebuttal statement has been issued from the Office of Sheikh Abdul Hamid, Imam and preacher of Friday for Sunnis in Zahedan, (may God protect him) over the claims which have been put by some extremist websites on the political position of Shaykh. These web sites accused him to have extremist political opinions.
According to the issued statement: “The charges that blamed on Sheikh Abdul Hamid by some extremist websites are baseless. His eminence repeatedly asseverated in the Friday sermon his impartiality over any party or political wing of the country, rather his policy is to keep following the right and avow to follow-up the right forever. (God willing)
Mulana Abdul Hameed will continue upholding the rights of the oppressed, whether they are Shias or Sunnis, Muslims or non-Muslims.
His criticism is not limited to the current policies of the present government, but he had criticized some of the reformist government’s policies before as well, Sheikh believed that the criticism must be constructive not destructive; because without constructive and positive criticism the state will tend towards tyranny and dictatorship and devastating. His Eminence has been trying to provide useful solutions by his criticism.
The great Sunni leader has mentioned repeatedly in his statements that each official elected by the people directly or indirectly, people have right to criticize his wrong policies; Shaikh does not see anyone excluded of criticism.
Sheikh many times made it clear that no one is better than Ali Bin Abitalib (may Allah be pleased with him); as once he saw his shield with a Jew, he was selling it in the market! When they went to the judge for gaining justice, the judge who was appointed by Ali him self decided in favor of Jew, the Jewish was sure that he is not the owner of shield. This caused his embracing Islam as he lauded: there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of God, and shield is your shield. This is Islamic justice which caused Islam of Judaism.
Who is better than the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) when he granted Abu Sufyan, Uyaynah, Afra’ and Suhail bin Amr along with some others on Hunain battle; then Ansa’ar said, “Our swords are bloodstained with non-believers’ bloods and they are going with booties!” When the Prophet (peace be upon him) came to know he did not order their imprisonment, but made them gathered and advised them to remove their objections.
The biography of the Prophet (peace be upon him) is full of such evidence that the Prophet listened critics with open face and ethics and convinced them.”
At the end of this official statement issued by the Office of khateeb of Sunnis in Zahedan it is more added that: “Grand Sheikh Abdul Hamid appreciates the valuable steps of previous governments as well as the current government in following up on the civil construction and positive projects. The criticism was always drawn due to lack of recruitment of Sunnis in the key posts and the discrimination between Shiites and Sunnis in the inauguration of the jobs and posts as well as the partial view of the government in the case of giving posts and employments, as there is no any Sunni minister, deputy minister, vice-president of the country, as well as there is no any Sunni ambassador of Iran nor Sunni governor for any province in the country.”
