2 foreign soldiers die in Afghanistan

Seven US, one French and two Australian soldiers were killed on June 7, 2010, in separate militant attacks in Afghanistan.

Two more US-led soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan, a day after NATO forces lost at least 10 soldiers in separate incidents in the war-torn country.
The soldiers died on Tuesday when an improvised explosive device detonated in southern Afghanistan, NATO’s International Security Assistance Force in a brief statement.
It, however, did not elaborate on the exact location of the incidents and the nationality of the dead soldiers.
Monday was the deadliest day in combat for NATO forces since 11 French troopers lost their lives in August 2008.
The latest deaths bring the number of NATO troops killed in Afghanistan so far this year to 247.
NATO currently has about 130,000 soldiers in the troubled country while the US plans to deploy 30,000 additional troops there by August.
In 2009, a total of 520 foreign soldiers died in Afghanistan, which remains the scene of continued militancy despite some nine years of foreign military presence in the violence-wracked nation.
