Blast at Pakistani hospital kills 11

A bomb explodes inside a hospital in Pakistan’s southwest Balochistan province, killing at least eleven people and injuring dozens of others.

The bomb attack took place at the Civil Hospital in the south-west Pakistani city of Quetta on Friday. The blast happened at the entrance to the hospital’s emergency ward.
Media reports say a policeman and a person working for a private TV channel were among the dead. Emergency services say the death toll could rise as some of the injured are said to be in critical condition.
The fatal incident came as a number of people had gathered at the hospital to protest at the target killing of a bank manager earlier in the day.
Over 3,500 people have been killed in bombings and other attacks by militants throughout Pakistan since July 2007.
